Collier School District

The Collier School District is a private, non-profit school district for students with disabilities that cannot be accommodated by a student's home district.  The school is set up with separate paths for success for students who plan on attending four year colleges, community colleges, technical/vocational schools, and full-time employment.  Students who attend Collier are not restricted by their disability but are taught how to live with their disability and still succeed in achieving their dreams.  Collier's counseling department is a crucial component to the success of the student body.  Counselors run individual and group therapy that help students develop both socially and emotionally throughout their school years.  Students are also given the opportunity here to participate in clubs, sports, and extra curricular activities that are similar to public schools'.  The objective of this school is to make students feel comfortable in their learning environment by not making their disabilities hold them back from their education or their social environments.

If your child has a disability that needs accommodations that our district can not provide him/her with, Collier is a good alternative to our public school system.  Please discuss the placement of your child in this school with your child's counselor and school administrator.
