Coastal Learning Center
When students are suspended from their home school districts for a long period of time due to school policy, parents and districts can chose to send special needs students with extreme behavioral issues to Coastal Learning Center. CLC is a school for students with special needs from the ages of 5-12 who need a structured self-contained setting that can improve their behaviors before returning to their home school. The goal of this center is to structure students in a self-contained classroom of no more than 12 students with a teacher and a teacher's assistant who provide parents, districts, and community officials with weekly progress reports on the children's behavioral progress and improvements. The goals of this placement would be to correct a student's behaviors and habits in order for them to return to their home district without stopping their educational progress.
